Service Projects The Menlo Park Ward from Mesa, Arizona came to Snowflake in June. Their purpose? Attend the Snowflake LDS Temple AND help clean-up the Academy Building! About 20 youth and 8 leaders pitched in and helped with preparing a portion of the lower floor of the Academy for our July quilt show. With so many hard working helpers it a only took a few hours to make a remarkable difference. Trash was hauled out, walls washed and floors cleaned. The many quilt show attendees were thrilled with what they saw - not only quilts but a new area open for use!
Academy History Book David Flake, former President of the SAF and current Historian, has written a moving and factual history of the Academy from anecdotes and research he has been doing over the past few years. The book includes numerous photos and stories that highlight the sacrifices and dedication to education in this area. The book went on sale during Snowflake Pioneer Days 2013. For more information click here- How Are We Doing? To date the SAF has raised $175,000 in cash toward our goal, and $560,000 in grants Pioneer Days Float Watch for the SAF float in the Pioneer Days Parade. We will again have the tuneful music of Eugene Webb and his musicians on board. SAF directors will be walking by the float so feel free to donate!
